About the ordering process

These instructions will help you through the process of purchasing ARRI licenses online. Since different ARRI products are able to use these licenses (such as the ALEXA/AMIRA cameras and WCU-4 hand unit), the instructions refer to a generic “device” in telling you how to proceed. The steps below – helping you register, login, order and install – apply to all devices that can use the licenses.

Step One – Registration & Login

You need to register for the online shop first, before you start your order. Each registration will be checked manually by ARRI in order to set up a new customer account, this will usually take up to one business day.

As soon as your registration process is finished, your login data will be activated and you can begin purchasing licenses at the online shop. You will receive a confirmation email immediately after your registration. Another email will be sent to you as soon as your login data is activated.

Step Two – Ordering

After logging in successfully, choose licenses at the online shop and add them to your cart. Your cart is always located on the right side of the screen.

Each individual license must be assigned to a specific device (e.g. ALEXA/AMIRA camera or WCU-4). Therefore, please enter the name and number of your device and upload the hardware info (IPKG/JSON) of your device to the online shop. You will find further information on how to create the IPKG/JSON file here.

Step Three – Payment

You can either pay by credit card or bank transfer at the online shop. If you pay with a credit card, your order can be processed more quickly, as there is no need to wait for a confirmation of the payment. In case of a bank transfer, the general ARRI payment tracking will apply.

The order number will be sent to you as confirmation.

Step Four – Receipt of your license

As soon as we receive payment, an email will be sent to confirm the successful completion of your order. The license key file(s) will be made available for you under "My Downloads".

The key you receive is licensed under the serial number of the device that you registered at the beginning of the order. Now you can download the key and copy it to your device. Further information about the installation of the key on your device can be found here for ALEXA and here for AMIRA.
